About the Artist

NEW SERIES RELEASE

Heather Abshire is a New York based artists who uses her work to better understand and share her mental health journey. She creates art to move past her mental incapacities and regain control.

Most of Heather’s pieces mimic a dream-like state with endless possibilities of where and when. She distorts her references to a point where the forms are identifiable but not specific. By keeping her main concern on the basic compositional structure she’s able to play with light and perception to construct a new reality. Either through collage or painting, the work challenges the viewer's perception of space.

Heather’s goal is to extract and combined elements of this chaotic world to control the environment she presents to her audience.
